Judy Landis

General Theological Seminary

Meet Judy L. Landis, seminarian for the week of February 27 – March 4, 2012.

Judy is a senior Master of Divinity student attending the General Theological Seminary in New York City, having started her theological education at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Ambler, Pennsylvania.

Judy was born in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, where she attended public schools. She obtained a B.A. in Criminology, Political and Social Science from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and began her career as a probation officer with Montgomery County. She took a hiatus from her professional life when she had children, and during that time became an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Judy taught Sunday school and Bible school, sang in the choirs, and played piano for her church, but it was because of her experience there as a leader in the development of women’s ministries, concentrating on local and global outreach, that Judy felt called to serve God and enter the seminary.
