Los Angeles: Bruno calls for election of bishop coadjutor

[Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles] In the context of his address to Diocesan Convention, Bishop J. Jon Bruno Dec. 5 requested the Standing Committee, with his consent, to call for the election in 2016 of the seventh bishop of Los Angeles, to succeed Bruno upon his retirement at age 72 in 2018.

A letter from Bruno was distributed to delegates and clergy at convention: it is available in English here and in Spanish here.

Comments

  1. In light of the pending Title IV action against, him, Bishop Bruno should consider retirement now and allow the Standing Committee and/or his successor and/or interim bishop to resolve the Saint James Matter in Newport Beach. A trial will serve on one’s interests and is not what the Body of Christ should be doing.
