  1. Moputo Jones says:

Baron of Oystermouth? It the UK a little too far advanced to be be continuing this silly nonsense of lordships and peerages?

    • Dominic Barrington says:

It is worth remembering that while the UK has the second chamber that it does, this is the only way of keeping a great mind and wise voice present in it, after his departure from Canterbury. I, for one, am glad he will still be in the House of Lords.

  2. Elaine Hood Culver says:

Congratulations to Archbishop Williams. I have not agreed with him on everything, but he has had a difficult and unenviable job. I wish him a fulfilling retirement.

  3. Not a bit. It’s their traditions that makes Britain as wonderful as it is. Hear, hear, says I, and a “Hip, hip, HURRAH!” as well!

  4. if only the general synod had followed his amending advice, the c of e would not now be so divided-his great concern was to protect orthodox and traditional anglicans.

  5. Mike Lawlor says:

Oystermouth is the small village near Swansea from where Archbishop Rowan originally came. We in the Church of England have been blessed to have him as our Archbishop and he will be sorely missed as he goes to Cambridge.

  6. Judith Hays says:

Hurrah for Arch Bishop Williams! While he sometimes seemed out-of-touch with modern Christianity, he held fast to our core beliefs. It would have been nice to see female clergy in our sister churches across the pond.

  7. Rev Canon Lyndon Harrison says:

Well done Rowan, you deserve your honour. May God bless you and the family on your new life in Cambridge.
