Bishop Orlando Guerrero, Rev. Alma Louise De bode-Olton and Bishop Wilfrido Ramos-Orench.

[Episcopal News Service] On Sept. 21, on the same day the Anglican Episcopal Church in Curaçao celebrated its 60th Anniversary, the Rev. Alma Louise De bode-Olton became the first woman priest ordained in Curaçao.

De bode-Olton, an attorney and former ambassador to Cuba and other jurisdictions, was ordained in the Resurrection Church in Suffisant, to the Holy Order of the Prebyterate by the Rt. Rev. Orlando Guerrero, bishop in the Anglican Church in Venezuela and Curaçao.

  1. What wonderful news! Congratulations!

  2. Another glorious event to recognize that our Lord Jesus loves all, and leads all to specific places in the Body of Christ, including women into priesthood. Thanks be to God that the Rev. Alma is now serving as she was called to serve! May God continue to bless her in her parish and beyond, as she shows the world that priestly service is not determinate upon being male!

  3. Felicitaciones a la Iglesia Anglicana Episcopal de Venezuela por los 60 años de Aniversario y a la Reverenda Alma, por su ordenación Presbiteral

  4. Felicitaciones a ella y la Diocesis en esta significativa ocasion.
