St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church

Wilton, CT
What do you want this person to do?
St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Wilton, CT is looking for a loving, inclusive, spiritually nurturing collaborative leader, full of the creative energy of the Holy Spirit. The spirit of St. Matthew’s is founded in the support and warmth of our congregation and our sense of community. We know that caring for each other is both an expression and a fulfillment of our faith.

Our new rector will inspire us to nurture our faith and put it into action so that we may strengthen our current ministries and discover new ways of living out God’s mission. She/he will support lay leadership so we can create a life together that encourages us to care for each other as well as the world outside our doors.

St. Matthew’s outreach program is a meaningful strength of our parish – St. Matthew’s is at its best when we serve others. We find that it connects our parish when we work together on a common mission. The leadership and direction of a committed rector are needed for our outreach program to ensure participation at a high level in the mission of the church. Our new rector will have support from the Parish in helping guide and build our outreach efforts.

There are many opportunities to expand and enrich our worship offerings. St. Matthew’s is open to exploring other forms of liturgy, including the possibility of a third service. We envision a rector who supports the use of technology to communicate and coordinate parish life opportunities, which would mobilize the talents and abilities of our Parish members. Our new rector will help us shepherd the talent and treasure St. Matthew’s has been blessed with, and will help us build upon those resources to do even more for our parish and the community outside our walls.
