Position Summary:
Reporting to the Bishop Suffragan, the person in this position will have responsibilities in providing administrative support including managing schedules, making travel arrangements and coordinating information and events for the Bishop Suffragan. The ideal candidate would value positive working relationships and would consider him/herself energetic, with a willingness to learn. Description of Position:
• Provide administrative and office assistance
• Manage telephone inquiries and correspondence with parishes and parishioners
• Serves as a liaison between congregations and the Bishop Suffragan
• Maintain the Bishop’s schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, and travel
• Prepare for weekly parish visitations of the Bishop Suffragan and provide follow-up when necessary
• Demonstrates discretion and protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Manage information flow for boards and committees on which the Bishop Suffragan serves
• Conserves Bishop Suffragan’s time by ensuring that meetings and appointments are kept to the schedule

Additional Responsibilities:
• Track and report Bishop Suffragan’s expenses
• Process Clergy Continuing Education and Clergy Sabbatical grants
• Process Clergy and Lay expense reimbursements
• Provide assistance for the Clergy Pre-Lenten Retreat, the New Call group, and Chaplains to the Retired Clergy
• Prepare and distribute the Clergy Prayer List and Clergy Death Notices
• Review and prepare paperwork for Remarriage requests
• Process Licenses for new clergy and License Renewal follow-up
• Work collaboratively with other diocesan staff members and specifically with the Bishop Suffragan’s team on projects and other assignments
• Prepare inserts for the Bishop’s visitation packets
• Participate in and support key essential diocesan events
• Organize and prepare information packets for the Holy Land and Mission Trips

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft office systems
• Good typing and grammar skills
• Professional telephone manners and organizational ability
• Demonstrate time management, problem solving and flexibility with a positive service orientation
• Prefer candidate who is familiar with The Episcopal Church
• Ability to anticipate and self-motivate
• Appreciation of creativity and sense of humor
