St. John’s Episcopal Church is an Episcopal parish family gathered in worship, prayer and fellowship, helping each other to experience and share the transforming love of Jesus Christ. We seek an Assistant Rector to serve as a resource for the Rector primarily focusing on the continued development of children’s, youth and young adult ministry within the parish. In addition, the assistant will share with the Rector in all aspects of parish and diocesan life, including the continued evangelizing of the “Jesus Movement” in a rapidly growing community on the west side of Roseville, CA. If you are comfortable holding to a broad church “middle of the way” theological tradition, this is the place for you!

The qualified candidate for this position will have knowledge of resources available and experience in planning, implementing and running vibrant ministries with children, youth and young adults. This person will be expected to assist the Rector, as well as the congregation, in the discernment and continued development of lay leaders in these areas, providing expertise for the expansion of these programs as they currently exist. This person will also be able to utilize diocesan resources as well as ecumenical resources in these ministry areas. In addition, this person will also work with the Deacon, Administrative Assistant, Communications Assistant, Treasurer, Choir Director/Organist, and Vestry to help the people of St. John’s to grow in the spirit as they carry the God’s love and word into the local and global community.

Training and Experience:
1. Masters degree from an accredited Episcopal seminary
2. On track to be ordained as a priest no later than six months after date of hire.
3. Demonstrated commitment to Christian living in accordance with the word of God.
