AwakeningSoul hosts spiritual gatherings offering a time of sanctuary, sustenance, and inspiration. We invite you to a Sacred Revolution – daring to understand and live the stories of our heritage in a new way, revitalizing our relationship with God and our world.

Diana Butler Bass, author and renowned scholar, views the decline of interest in institutional religion as signaling a major transformation in how people are understanding and experiencing God. She believes the distant God is giving way to a more intimate sense of the sacred. This shift is at the heart of the revolution that surrounds us.

John Dominic Crossan is a distinguished Jesus scholar. He brings the stories of Jesus’ world into the 21st century. Pushing against institutional boundaries, he boldly guides us to grasp the reality that Jesus was a non-violent revolutionary and compellingly calls us to follow Jesus’ way of resisting the empire.

Music by Fran McKendree and the AwakeningSoul Ensemble.

St. Bede’s congregation is looking for a Vicar who is interested in a less than full time position. Our budget does not allow us to offer a full time position at this time; we hope we can soon and we appear to be headed in the right direction.
We are open to customizing the responsibilities of the Vicar to match what we can offer in compensation. We are offering a total compensation of up to $50,000 (which includes pension, and medical as needed). We are then prepared to negotiate a job description that works for a new Vicar with that compensation in mind. We are open to longer than “normal” time off options, educational leaves, flexible hours, etc. In other words, we are willing to structure the position to fit your vision.
We are a vibrant mission church serving our community since 1959, with 120 baptized members and an average Sunday attendance of 50. We value weekly Eucharist, mutual ministry, education, fellowship, ecumenical opportunities and outreach ministries. For more details, please visit http://www.bedesinthegrove.com/

These workshops will provide sixteen hours of experiential training about how to have more productive conversations. The skills learned will be immediately applicable to one’s personal and professional life. As accredited providers for Fierce, Inc. in the Episcopal Church, Courtney Reid, director of operations and Nicholas Center for the Diocese of Chicago, has provided many Fierce trainings in a variety of church and diocesan contexts.
