What are you looking for?
Rector/vicar/priest-in-charge Part Time
What’s the name of your church or organization?
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
Where is the job site located?
Wamego, KS
What do you want this person to do?
The City of Wamego features a beautiful downtown, historic landmarks, a gorgeous city park, an 18 hole golf course and many famous festivals and events. Heavy and light manufacturing form the core of the Wamego economy. This is bolstered by area agriculture, value-added ag product development and production, regional retail and financial services, an excellent health care and educational system, and continually developing arts, entertainment and recreational attractions.

Ideally, the gifts and skills of our future, part-time rector would both mirror the strengths of our community and fill needs where we are lacking. These skills and characteristics include a conscientious presence ministry, an interest in outreach specifically to raise attendance, and clear and open communication. Those gifts that would complement our church include warmth, a nonjudgmental, compassionate nature, and a strong interest in meeting local needs while bringing forward the spiritual aspect of these endeavors. A good sermon on Sunday mornings,
leading us to Christ in a fresh way, is also appreciated. Given the active nature of our membership, a collaborator and a mentor would fit our needs well.
