General Summary: The primary mission of the Program Coordinator is to be a minister to students. It is the responsibility and privilege of the Program Coordinator to assist the Campus Missioner in the following areas of ministry: spiritual formation, community building, pastoral care, hospitality and administration. The Program Coordinator will make a commitment to reflecting the core values of The Episcopal Student Center in one’s life and work. [those core values are attached to this document]

Responsibilities
 Assist the Campus Missioner to:
o Provide programs that are accessible and welcoming to all students regardless of
socio-economic background, ethnicity, physical or mental abilities
o Provide programs that help students develop meaningful relationships with God, with
one another and with all creation
o Lead Bible studies
o Teach Classes
o Plan events, retreats and pilgrimages
o Attend to pastoral needs of members of the community
o Plan weekly worship
 Work closely with student leaders empowering them to fulfill their ministry and leadership
goals
 Be a consistent welcoming presence at all primary student center events
o Including evenings and some weekends
o Some travel required
 Seek opportunities to connect with students individually as well as in groups through:
o Meeting for coffee or lunch

o Attending university events where students are involved
o Facilitating conversations that build up the community and help students wrestle with hard questions that challenge them to go deeper in their faith journey
 Promote and maintain the hospitable and welcoming environment of The Episcopal Student Center facilities
 Administrative requirements including:
o Respond to emails and phone calls promptly
o Maintain supplies
o Set up and break down that accompanies any liturgy or event
 Primary responsibility for official communications from the office of The Episcopal Student Center including:
o Maintain website
o Create publications such as flyers, posters and emails
o Publish weekly bulletins for worship
 Meet The Episcopal Diocese of Texas requirements for Safeguarding God’s People and Safeguarding God’s Children
 Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Training
 Bachelor’s Degree
Qualifications Required
 Computer competency with Microsoft Office products and basic publication programs as well as with Facebook and Twitter
 Current capability or ability to learn Apple operating systems
Qualifications Preferred
 Experience with young adult or campus ministry
 Experience in event planning and organizing
