Job Description
St. Mark’s Church, an Episcopal congregation in Southborough, MA seeks a Director of Youth Ministry. The past few years have been a time of rebuilding our youth program with the help of committed and talented volunteers; we’ve watched our program nearly triple in size. We began yearly summer mission trips that have invigorated our teens commitment to their faith and our world, and next year will involve between 25-30 adults and students. Our Sunday morning youth forum has become well established as well, providing our teens a chance to explore their faith. Sunday evening Youth Group gatherings, while less consistent, draw a number of students both from within our parish and the wider community. We’re ready for the next step, and hope you will help us get there.

We desire a program that will let our teens feel safe to be who they are and to explore the Christian faith in real ways. Our teens express a strong desire to make a difference in the world through service projects, and we desire to help them deepen their faith as part of our worshipping community. We’ll have succeeded if our teens have found a call to follow Christ in engaging ways and desire to share Jesus’ message of hope and love.

We’re less concerned about defining the number of hours to be worked, and more concerned with finding the right person who brings the skills we hope for. While likely part time, we are willing to explore other ways a skilled and passionate person can plug in to our community and the needs of our parish. Tell us what you might bring in your cover letter. Social media? Communications? Outreach? Something else?
